Highlights included reducing the local property tax rate 20 percent during his first term, solving persistent billing and collection problems with the county-owned sewer system, and road improvements throughout the county. Before running for office, he owned and operated his own real estate appraisal business. After becoming a real estate broker, he trained to become a residential and commercial real estate appraiser, which included over 600 hours of classwork and 3,000 hours of hands-on training. Since retiring, Ed has concentrated in real estate. Military commanders wrote “Phenomenal leader of first-class team” and “Epitome of ‘Service Above Self”. ![]() Following graduation from FSU in May of 1985, he returned to the military as a 2nd Lieutenant and retired as a Major in December of 2000. After almost 5 years of service, Ed left the military to attend college. He graduated from Wakulla High School in 1976 and immediately joined the Air Force. ![]() Ed was born and raised in Wakulla County and loves the area and people.
